Staying true to these values, she worked hard on her academics while staying on top of her social responsibilities as a member of the Nakazawa Family.Her parents’ constant travels in and out of the country meant that Yume spent most of her childhood in Osaka alone, with the maids and butlers. Her only solace were her summer visits at the Nakazawa family manor in Kyoto, where she spends the days with her cousin, Kyeji. A silent force of nature, the little guy barely acknowledged her presence but eventually warmed up to her.Yumeko’s life in Japan wasn’t perfect but it worked and she found comfort in the routines she’s built over the years. And so, it came as a shock when her grandparents announced that both her and Kye were to be sent to the Philippines to finish their studies. Initially against the idea, Yume protested against the decision, yet ultimately, had to follow her grandparents’ order. As soon as Kye finished middle school, Yumeko, who was about to enter her 3rd year in high school, with nothing but packed bags and quiet resolve, left one country behind for another.
